Board hears year's plans The Board of Visitors met for the first time this academic year yesterday. The Committee of the Whole opened with remarks on the state of the College by President Timothy J. Sullivan.
Student Assembly Election Results Yesterday’s Student Assembly freshman elections had the highest voter turnout in recent memory, according to SA Elections Chair, senior Marc Johnson. No turnout data was available for the upper-class voters.
Minor reports sexual assault at fraternity An alleged sexual assault of a female minor non-student at the Lambda Chi house of the fraternity complex over the weekend has become the focus of an investigation by Campus Police and other College officials. The alleged victim has not been identified.
Ambassador speaks to campus Daniel Ayalon, the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, spoke at the College in the Commonwealth Auditorium. Ayalon spoke for a half-hour Tuesday evening, followed by a question-and-answer period with the audience. Ann Marie Stock, Acting Dean of International Affairs, opened the evening, presenting Ayalon as the third speaker in the Emery Reves Memorial Lecture Series.

Sullivan announces construction to council In a speech made before the Williamsburg City Council at Monday’s work session, President of the College Timothy J. Sullivan emphasized the need for the College and Colonial Williamsburg to continue evolving and improving, while remaining true to the unique character of the city.
Former professor lectures on dangers of dirty bombs Dr. Peter Zimmerman, chief scientist for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, made a presentation last Friday in Small Hall as part of a colloquium meeting.

Students memorialize poet Wednesday afternoon, students, faculty and friends gathered on the steps of the Sunken Gardens in remembrance of the 2002-2003 writer-in-residence Reetika Vazirani and her son Jehan Vazirani Komunyakaa. The informal gathering gave those who knew Vazirani and her son an opportunity to read any poem that they felt spoke to the occasion.
SA debates Review Board nominees, elects secretary In their meeting Wednesday night, the Student Assembly Senate voted to confirm all but one of SA President Brian Cannon’s nominees for the Review Board. At one point, Cannon left the four and a half-hour meeting, which was marked by intense debate.
