Virginia 21 gives pennies to Richmond
Members of Virginia21, the statewide political advocacy group for 18 to 24 year-olds, presented 200,000 pennies to the Commonwealth’s Treasurer Jody Wagner yesterday at a press conference designed to raise awareness about the ongoing budget debates currently before Virginia’s General Assembly. Virginia21 student representatives from the College, George Mason University and other public schools attended the event, as they described, to “pay a penny and not pass the buck” ...
