Charter universities advance initiative
Last Thursday, the College, along with the University of Virginia and the Virginia Polytechnic Institute, unveiled a plan to increase their financial independence and security from the Commonwealth. The proposed Chartered Universities Initiative is set to go before the General Assembly in January as a possible solution to their combined $88.8 million budgetary deficits.
