The Residence Life Office had a pair of high-ranking staff members resign over the summer months. Jerry Roeder, former area director for Taliaferro Hall, Hunt Hall, Brown Hall, the Graduate House, the Reves Center and Jefferson Hall, and Mary Glisan, former assistant director for Administration, both left the employment of the College. This has left one remaining vacancy in the Office of Residence Life staff.

Roeder left the College to become the Director of Residence Life at Christopher Newport University. His replacement, Errin Jeffes, received her master's degree from Virginia Tech.

"She [Jeffes] has terrific experience, really good skills," Director of Residence Life Deb Boykin said. She added that Jeffes has been adjusting to her new position well. "She feels like she's been here."

Jeffes is looking forward to the new demands of her job.

"The position offers me a great deal of autonomy and creativity, which will force me to do many things for the first time and also to try new ways of doing things," Jeffes said. "I think the student body and the student staff will challenge me on a daily basis."

Katrina Pawvluk, the former assistant director for programming, replaced Glisan. According to Boykin, the recent changes in the Office of Residence Life have been easy for all parties involved.

"There was a smooth transition because there was really only one new person," she said.

While Glisan and Roeder have been successfully replaced, Pawvluk's former position is currently open.
