Stones gather no moss
The Rolling Stones confirmed Monday that they are preparing for a 2002 world tour. The group, which last toured in 1999, will use the new tour to celebrate their 40th anniversary. There is currently no information available about the date on which the tour will begin or which songs the band will play.

Latin Grammys carry on after delay
Singer Alejandro Sanz claimed four awards at the second annual Latin Grammys, which took place Tuesday rather than the original date of Sept. 11. His awards included Best Song and Album and Record of the Year. Columbian singer Juanes took three trophies, including Best New Artist.

Lopez receives big payday for acting
Actress Jennifer Lopez was offered more than $12 million to play opposite Ben Affleck in director Martin Brest's "Gigli." Lopez will play a free-spirited gunslinger supervising a hit man (Affleck) who has kidnapped the brother of a district attorney.

CBS snags viewers
CBS has secured two nights of "Must-See TV," with a line-up of comedies Mondays and dramas Tuesdays. Shows like "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Judging Amy," "JAG" and "The Guardian" have helped to push CBS past NBC into its first weekly ratings win of the new fall season. "Judging Amy" scored its own record high last Tuesday with 17.6 million viewers and "JAG" had nearly 17.9 million, its second-best performance.

Emmys rescheduled
The 53rd Annual Emmy Awards have been re-rescheduled for Nov. 4, after postponing the original date of Sept. 16 to Oct. 7. Chairman of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Bryce Zabel, claimed that the Emmys will go on as planned Sunday. "Our sense is this has gone on long enough," Zabel said. "There will be no more moving of the dates. It's the right thing to do -- to finish it up."
