W&M ROTC members joined counterparts from Christopher Newport University for team competition. Each year's Ranger Challenge provides different examples of Army Ranger traning.

Basketball opens with 90-65 win
The Tribe men's basketball won with a 25 point margin at their exhibition game last weekend. The game was a chance to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of a team with new dynamics and new players.

Field Hockey falls to JMU, 2-1
The Tribe's field hockey team lost its last game of the season to James Madison University in double overtime last weekend. W&M was also disappointed at missing the opportunity for an at-large bid for CAA competition.

Volleyball shuts out VCU
The volleyball team has a perfect home record so far and has provided the last five opponents with shutouts. The most recent game, against Virginia Commonwealth University, was also senior night for the team.

Men's Soccer falls to American 3-0, defeats VCU Rams 3-
The Tribe men's soccer team has a lot to look back on: two games this past week, winning over Virginia Commonwealth University and a loss to American University. They also have a lot to look forward to: a game today and CAA play beginning next week.

Golf takes first win since 1994
W&M men's golf won for the first time since 1994 when they took the Charleston Southern Intercollegiate. Additionally, sophomore Tim Pemberton became the first Tribe golfer since 1995 to win individually.

Cross country finishes first at UVA
W&M men's cross country took first place at the Cavalier Open Cross Country Meet last weekend. The team hopes to repeat that performance this weekend at NCAA Southeast Regional competition.


Victory at 2nd home swim
W&M swimming and diving has had ten first place finishes in events during meets in the past week. Both the men's and women's teams won the meets they have hosted so far.


Women's Soccer Prepares for CAA's
Two women Tribe soccer players were named to the CAA first team and four additional players were named in the CAA second team. Tonight the team begins to play in the CAA tournament.
