Recognition main goal for labor groups
Despite President Sullivan's approval of wage increases for certain College employees last week, the Living Wage campaign has stated that the administration has failed to recognize both the rights and work of employees. The group made this statement during a rally held Wednesday at noon in the Wren Courtyard.

Police put two more officers on patrol
As a result of budget restructuring made by Campus Police, two more officers will be put on the street. This will increase the number of officers in charge of locking doors of campus buildings at night.

Campus, Williamsburg crime rates drop
Although recent sexual attacks both on campus and in the Williamsburg area have made many students cautious about their safety, according to Vice President for Student Affairs Bill Walker, the crime rates in recent years have actually been decreasing.


Students gathered at the Rec Center earlier to donate blood to the Red Cross's reserves.

Relief efforts bring College together
This past week, the College organized relief efforts for the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks. Such efforts included a blood drive, funds drive as well as a stuffed animal drive in conjunction with efforts nationwide.

IT promises movie channel return, SIN plans to relaunch in phases
WMTV plans to relaunch the movies shown on cable channel 22 this week, according to Information Technology. This comes in conjunction with the gradual relaunch of SIN.

Various religious groups on campus held a unity forum Wednesday night in order to discuss the impact of last week's terrorist attacks.

SA sponsors blood, fund drives for disaster relief
This week's Student Assembly meeting focused on the success of Tuesday's blood drive, which received financial support from the group. Homecoming was also a topic of debate, especially the need to reform Homecoming Court nominations.

Theater to re-open in CW
After one year of restoration and renovations, the Kimball Theatre will be ready for the public next Friday, marked by a rededication ceremony. The Theater replaces the popular Williamsburg Theatre, known for its reduced priced movies and shows.

Bomb found at mosque
An undetonated, homemade bomb was found outside a James City County mosque this week and is being investigated as a hate crime by the FBI. The act is thought to stem from anti-Islamic sentiments that have been prevalent since last week's terrorist attacks.


Together in Grief
In accordance with President Bush's declaration of Friday as a National Day of Prayer and Rememberance, the College cancelled classes for the day. Meanwhile, students gathered in the Sunken Gardens for a prayer service.


Fewer attend sorority rush
The end of sorority rush Monday saw a decrease in women opting to rush this year as compared to last. Various reasons have been given for the decline, including academics and the decision to go dry.
